I love your blog:) Anyway, I was going to ask what you thought of "the hunger games" and "the hand maidens tale"? My sisters are trying to get me to read both..are they worth the time?
My name is Lori, by the way:) Your blog is so funny.
The Hunger Games was extremely engaging. I couldn't put it down! It was one of those books when I dreaded reaching the last page because I didn't want it to end. The book left a few loose ends which leave you itching for the sequel, but it was well written and I enjoyed it a great deal.
The Handmaid's Tale was a little headier. I had to take this one a chapter or two at a time and really digest what was happening. It dealt with some pretty graphic themes and actually disturbed me quite a bit (but what's good fiction if it leaves its readers complacent, eh?).
The Hunger Games was an enjoyable, suspenseful read. The Handmaid's Tale was more like simultaneous kicks to the head and gut; I didn't enjoy it but I'm glad I read it. Does that make sense?
Thanks for the indepth review. I was tired of my sisters shrieking "just read it!". It does make sense. I think I will go check out 'The Hunger Games" tommorow:)
Wow. Now your blog is entertaining AND informative!
